Documentation for "Eligible to Breed"

Applicants must be LMAC members.
Applying for Eligibility. When you believe that your dog has met the Large Munsterlander Association of Canada requirements and wish to breed or make your sire available for breeding, email the following documentation to the Secretary, in the first instance (joe.schmutz@usask.ca)
The Secretary will prepare a first draft of a Total Dog Profile and forward it to the Registrar for approval. Once approved, the LM will be added to the Eligibles List. Beginning in 2025, LMs missing just one of the criteria are also listed as "pending".
Documents needed to apply for eligibility to breed:
- 1) Copies of test score documents (young dog test and advanced hunting test)
- 2) Copy of registration certificate and pedigree (i.e. front and back)
- 3) Copy of hip & elbow dysplasia certification (see below)
- 4) Copy of conformation evaulation (LMAC or for 2020, VHDF)
- 5) Photo of your dog
For new kennels, owners of LMAC-approved females should contact the Registrar, Derek Oderkirk for a "New Kennel Application Form".
Once approved, the kennel name will be added to the LMAC webpage with their contact information. Please email this to the webmaster, Sheila Schmutz.
Hip Dysplasia Certification
Hip & elbow evaluation is required, as of July 1, 2020.
Option 1 - Canadian Teleradiologist
- Dogs must be 18 months or older.
- Have your vet take high quality radiographs of the hips and each elbow (extreme flexed medial to lateral view), with dog sedated.
- The films should be marked with the the dog’s tattoo, date of x-ray and vet clinic name.
- Your vet should email these to:

- Payment is made to your vet for the radiographs and assessment fee
- Your vet should forward the assessment report to you
Option 2 - Orthopedic Foundation for Animals in Missouri
- Dogs must be 24 months of age or older.

- The evaluation charge will be explained by your veterinarian who will send the x-ray on your behalf to:
